Speaking of the delayed naming of Captains, the Tampa Bay Lightning offically named Vincent Lacavalier as team captain today. I swear to god they already did this, and why the hell not?

Sadly, I am not attending the Western Canada NHL rookie tournament in Camrose, due to my own stupidity and not reading my own blog. Oh well. The tourney started today with the Calgary rookies taking on the Edmonton rookies. The games stream live, but I was too busy playing 09 to watch. Joe Sakic, my childhood idol, signed a one-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche today. I'm glad, I don't think I was ready to let him go yet.

Columbus Blue Jackets prospect Stefan Legein has reportedly decided to hang up the skates at the age of 19.

Columbus GM Scott Howson confirmed the report while his parents denied it. No reason for the "retirement" was given. Legein's agent gave the news to the team.
